From Dick McCoy: Found this picture of Gary & Don from almost 40 years ago, taken in my dad's driveway on Torrance Avenue; that's Bill Connery's '59 'Vette behind Gary ... the other pic was taken at our 40th reunion last year ... most of you know Gary passed away a little over a month after the (2005) reunion

from Rich McLean (Sep 8, 2005):

Yes Gary is in our class and was at the 2005 reunion in Vestal last July. We were all glad to have seen him one last time in this life. He died suddenly and unexpectedly of a probable heart attack.  His sudden passing reminds us again of what is important in the gift of wordly life while we have it: family, friends and being kind to others.

from Jim Krestalude (Sep 9, 2005):

It's very sad to hear that Gary died.  It doesn't seem possible when I was talking to him only 6 weeks ago at the reunion.  Life is precious and can end so quickly.  We have to take advantage of every second and enjoy life while we can.

from Dick McCoy (Sep 9, 2005)

I just couldn't believe this when Don called me to let me know ... and I'm still in shock, this has really saddened me; Gary was a great guy and long-time friend from w-a-a-y back in junior high school. You'll be missed, old friend ... and thought of fondly for many many years to come.

from Sharon Jacobs Peris Sep 9, 2005)

I was so saddened to hear of Gary's passing. My prayers go out to his family. Thank you so much for the picture and I am so glad I got to see him at Donoli's. What a shock that was.

from Evelyn Reistetter Urda (Sep 12, 2005)

Yes, it is a sad announcement... His death makes it more apparent how important our class reunions are. It is a poignant advantage and, perhaps, a privilege for classmates to see each other at such times. Our time here on earth is truly precious.

Did I ever tell you about the time Dave Williams, Paul Waters, Gary Schild, Dave Wiggins, Bob Shuta, and I (of course) were at the upper pavilion at

Arnold Park, sipping a few brews, and we got the bright idea to put 2 picnic tables

on the roof, straddling the peak? (See Story on Dick's page 6/20/00)
