She remembers Rudy Manteuffel and Alfred Hermann. Alfred, German heritage, soft spoken, German accent, was asked by Miss Anna Strong, the strict

History Teacher, to comment on how modern Germans felt about Hitler (20 years later back then).

Alfred tried to downplay individual German’s support of Hitler and the atrocities. This upset Rudy who turned red with the retort that they supported

Hitler all the way. Alfred sat back down embarrassed.

Rudy felt strongly about the war. Vietnam is more distant to us now than WWII was to us back then!!! Imagine.

Rudy’s father was highly educated and worked at GE. When he immigrated to US one of his jobs was to work with Adm. Rickover’s scientific engineering

organizations.

He would go out of his way to speak to Judy at GE (where she worked) once he found out that she knew Rudy.

Some of my best times were when we had a fake ID and bought some Booz and went out cruzing with Bob Campbell.

Mah name be:   ... Dick (Richard) McCoy ... does that bring any remembrance back to you?  I "hung out" with Don Holden, Gary Schild, Bob Shuta, Paul

Waters, and Dennis Super (who by the way is a self-made millionaire now), and actually, I still do!

We're all still "hometown boys".  I also believe you and I were in the same homeroom for a few years.  I remember you, the guy with the last name I could

never spell ... hahahahaha!

Rich McLean a great conversation with Joanne Sorber (Spohn) on the phone on Friday. She remembers you and Dr. Manteuffel. He would regularly drive

to the drug store Joanne was working in in the ‘60s to get his daily cigar.
