Dave called me one day and asked if we could meet for a drink.  We talked for a while - I asked if he had the yearbook from 65 since I never got one.  He

said he did and he would bring it with him.

We had a good time talking and looking at pictures - finding out what each other new about different ones (this was in 1984).

I didn't know Dave Benedict in high school - but met him in Louisville.

His wife Ann and I were members of the same church and played in a ladies bridge group. We had known each other a couple of years.

Ann and I were partners one night and we started talking about high school - most of the women had gone to one Louisville school or another.  I

happened to mention that I had gone to school in a small town in upstate NY.

Ann wanted to know what town because her husband had gone to school in NY also.

Dave worked for the City of Louisville.  They had two children a girl, then boy.

I now live in Pewee Valley, Kentucky, about 20 miles east of Louisville.

For many years I worked in the funeral industry as a funeral director and embalmer.I left the profession 13 years ago and became a right of way

administrator with the Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer

District.

Last July they wanted to downsize and offered me a very attractive early retirement option which I accepted and am now back working at a very nice

funeral home as the staff embalmer. Ain't that a hoot.  :-)

I have been married for 31 years to Ann, who is from Bowling Green, KY. I met  her when I was stationed at Fort Campbell with the Army.

I have two children, Pam who is 27 and is just moving with her husband who is a surgeon to Delaware. I have two grandchildren by her, Harry age 4 and

Arden, age 3.

My son Brad just turned 25 and just finished the first year of his masters degree in clinical psychology.

I still hunt and fish and have a collection of depression era glassware.

My home is a beautiful custom made log home with 3 fireplaces. We love it.

David Benedict lived near me in Twin Orchard he lived near Cora Hasley and Sharon Garvey, and Larry Caskill (?). We were a diverse class of I think 410 or

 so

Dave played the part of the commanding officer in "Teahouse of the August Moon," the class play, and did a great job. He was perfect for the part: He

always seemed very serious about things, but he enjoyed comedy,

and we used to do bits of routines from records.  We knew each other pretty well for a little while. The last time I saw him I think he was home on leave,

and he seemed to be very focused -- no time for trivia.

Dave Benedict came to the reunion on a motorcycle from Kentucky and got a big toothbrush to clean bugs from his teeth with.
